TUSCALOOSA Vicki Dyer Richardson, age 61, of Tuscaloosa, died September 7, 2013, at DCH Regional Medical
Center. A life's celebration will be Sunday, September 22, 2013, at Magnolia Chapel South with Rev. Joe Jones
officiating. Visitation will follow the service with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hood and Delores Darcey Dyer; her daughter, Amy Victoria Sutton; and
stepson, Thomas Franklin “Rocky” Richardson.
She is survived by her husband, best friend and love of her life for 35 years, Royce Richardson.
Vicki has been in television broadcasting for over 22 years. She held the positions as traffic and program manager,
currently with TV Station WVUA of University of Alabama. Prior to that, she worked for WCFT-TV Channel 33.
She attended Tuscaloosa County High School, Class of 1970.
Vicki being a cancer survivor of 11 years, she learned to appreciate life. She loved friends and family and never met
a stranger. She loved to travel and went on many cruises and met so many wonderful people and maintained a
lasting friendship with her cruise family.
Vicki and Royce loved the beach and spent most of their vacation together walking in the sand in the warmth of
sunny shores.
This courageous lady will be missed by many and the lovely smile she always carried on her face.
Thanks to all friends, DCH doctors, nurses and staff for all the love, prayers, support and kind words during her
brief illness.
