The Class of 1970 was the largest class to graduate from County High up to that point in time. In the Homecoming float competition, we placed first as Sophomores and Juniors and second as Seniors. Our football teams defeated crosstown rival Tuscaloosa High School in our Junior (24-21) and Senior (35-14) seasons. With the Senior Class magazine sale, the Class of 1970 exceeded our goal of $10,000 by selling more than $12,000 in magazine subscriptions. Our consumption of hamburgers (although not documented) during our sophomore year, while the cafeteria was being renovated, put McDonalds over the one-million-sold mark.

Our Senior Class Officers were:

Jimmy White..................................................President
Jim Cox..................................................Vice President
Terry Carlton..................................................Secretary
DeDe Maxwell...............................................Treasurer

GAZE NOW UPON THE FACES OF THE GREATEST SENIOR CLASS EVER,

THE CLASS OF 1970.

WE'RE THE BEST THERE'LL EVER BE,

WE'RE THE CLASS OF SEVENTY!
