Shirley was an amazing woman with a strong Christian faith. Her husband was her high school sweetheart,
her best friend and her closest confidant. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her daughters and took every
chance to spoil her grandchildren that she could possibly get. After Amon died, Shirley decided it was time
to develop her social skills and became a significant part of groups such as the Bunco Hotties, TCHS 1970
classmates, a widow's group and most importantly the Ladies' Bible Study Groups at Christ Harbor United
Methodist Church. Through these groups she developed several strong life-long friendships.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Griffin, Scott Williams, Daniel "Ziggy" Spires, Toby Tidmore, Bruce Tidmore,
Scott Watts, Alan Watts, RC Carr, Kris Carr, Zachary Carr and Eric Hamilton.
The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Hospice of West Alabama and Drs.' and
nurse's staff at Cancer Care Center of Tuscaloosa for all of the special care they provided.
