TUSCALOOSA Jerry D. Pope, age 60, of Tuscaloosa, died May 18, 2013, at St. Vincent's
Hospital. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Edgemont Cemetery in Anniston with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles M. Pope, and his mother, Margaret O. Pope.
He is survived by his brother, Ronald W. Pope (Brenda).
Jerry was confined to a wheelchair at age 29. For 30 years, he strived to live life to the fullest, and he excelled in handicap golf, tennis, skiing, and hand-crank bicycle riding. He is now riding in the gates of heaven.
Honorary pallbearers are Russell Johnson, Bert Askew, Leo Payne, Larry Sullivan, Tommy Pope, Jeff Kurth, Tuscaloosa Bicycle Club, and his many friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the charity of one's choice.
