BIRMINGHAM William Luther "Bill" Dyer, III, age 55, of Birmingham, died Oct. 7, 2007, at home. A life's celebration will be 6 p.m. tonight at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North with Rev. Dalton "Butch" Styes officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing.Visitation will follow the service until 8 p.m. A private burial will take place at Campground Church Cemetery in Samantha.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William L. "Cotton" Dyer, Jr. and Peggy Irvin Dyer, and sister, Diana Dyer Costa.
Survivors include his sister, Sherry Dyer Bell of Greenwood, Ind.;
aunt, Mary Ruth Dyer; nieces and nephews, Dylan Costa, Alana, Brandon, and Savannah Bell; special friend, LeAnna; special cousin, Vicki Dyer Richardson; best friend in life, Gary Brown; numerous cousins and a host of good friends and co-workers.
Bill was a graduate of TCHS Class of 1970. He owned and managed health spas in Mississippi and Alabama in the early years of his career. With over 17 years of service, he has worked with hundreds of trade shows in marketing and sales with American Exhibition Services, LLC in Birmingham.
Bill was one of a kind; he never met a stranger and had an electrifying personality, a positive attitude, and a loving, caring nature. He was a delight to be around. He loved Alabama football, golf, fishing, the beach, cooking, traveling, and he just loved life in general and lived it to the fullest. This unique man was loved by all who knew him, and he leaves a void for his family and friends.
Honorary pallbearers are Frankie Lary, Reggie Lancaster, Harold Barnes, James Barnett, Tom Winters, Frank Costa, employees of American Exhibition Services, LLC, and TCHS Class of 1970.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
